COUNTRYSIDE STEWARDSHIP - MID TIER AGREEMENTS - EXTENSION OFFER
DEFRA have today announced that they are to offer a one-year extension to Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier Agreements. These are for Agreements that started on the 01 January 2021 and are set to expire on 31 December 2025.
This offer is being put in place whilst DEFRA develop a reformed Sustainable Farming Incentive 2026 scheme.

Countryside Stewardship – Higher Tier
Countryside Stewardship has provided funding for farmers and land managers over the last several years enabling management of land to protect, restore or enhance the environment, whilst also aiming to alleviate the effects of climate change. Currently applications for Countryside Stewardship are closed, with no indication of when they may re-open.
The Government have announced that an improved CS Higher Tier Scheme will become available in Summer 2025.
