Capital Grants 2026

The Capital Grants offer for 2026 is due to re-open in late July 2026. Capital Grants are three year agreements that provide funding to farmers and land managers to carry out practical improvements.
Items under the Capital Grants offer will be categorised into 6 groups:

• Air quality
• Assessments
• Boundaries, trees and orchards
• Natural flood management
• Improvements
• Water quality

Funding limits will continue to apply, as follows:

• £25,000 for air quality
• £25,000 for water quality
• £25,000 for natural flood management
• £35,000 for boundaries, trees and orchards

You are able to apply for a grant in more than one category, however, only one application can be submitted per Single Business Identifier (SBI) per year.

Higher Tier Capital Grants 2026

Higher Tier Capital Grants are open for applications all year round and are available to a wide range of farmers and land managers.

b) apply for the appropriate level of scheme; and

c) advise in the delivery of all levels of scheme funded by DEFRA's Farming and Food Grant Payments
