Opening again to applications in February and March this year, the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund is part of the Farming Investment Fund and offers grants for specific items of equipment to:
Farmers, growers and contractors can apply for a grant of between £1,000 and £25,000 from a prescribed list of specific items. The list of items is larger than during the first round of funding following consultation with farmers, vets, academics and industry groups and standard item values and their grant rates have also been adjusted.
The items in this list improve agricultural sustainability and horticultural and forestry productivity, helping farmers use less inputs, reduce emissions and cut waste.
The items in this list offer improvements in the health and welfare of livestock, potentially helping farmers improve biosecurity or decrease environmental stress.
Each item has a score assigned to it based on the RPA’s assessment of how well it meets the objectives of the scheme.
If the scheme is oversubscribed, funding will be allocated to those items with the highest score first.
You will be able to apply via two separate online portals; one for each grant, and once they are published we will make this information available to you.
In the first round, those who applied for a grant received approximately 44% of the total cost. The fund proved very popular, and the first round was significantly oversubscribed, however anyone who was unsuccessful in the first round is encouraged to apply again.
If your application is successful, you can then buy the item. You will be able to claim the reimbursement using your receipt.
