NFU Secures One-Year Extension for Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier Agreements

COUNTRYSIDE STEWARDSHIP - MID TIER AGREEMENTS - EXTENSION OFFER

DEFRA have announced that they are to offer a one-year extension to Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier Agreements. These are for Agreements that started on the 1st January 2021 and are set to expire on 31st December 2025.

This offer is being put in place whilst DEFRA develop a reformed Sustainable Farming Incentive 2026 scheme.

About the extension:

  • The extension will mean that your agreement will end on 31st December 2026.
  • Your agreement will be the same as it has been and will continue under the same rules, terms and conditions as your existing agreement.
  • You will not be able to add, remove or replace options or capital items.
  • Any capital works that have not been completed and paid for by the time the extension starts will be removed from the Agreement.
  • Options and supplements with a duration of less than 5 years cannot be extended.
