Cadent, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, is promoting the H2East hydrogen pipeline.
The proposed route is approximately 150 kilometres, running from the Humber to Nottinghamshire. It forms the first phase of a wider network intended to connect major industrial areas across the North, East and Midlands.
The aim of the project is to enable manufacturers to transition from natural gas to lower-carbon hydrogen as part of the UK’s decarbonisation strategy.
